John

acute myeloid leukemia (AML)

I have been battling acute myeloid leukemia (AML) since October 24, 2023. I am an outpatient at Roswell Park currently. I spent over three to four months inpatient, and I had a bone marrow transplant on February 9, 2024.

It has sometimes been horrible, but now I’m working on increasing my strength both physically and mentally. My strength is a fraction of what it once was. I’ve been told after a year post-transplant, I should be getting back to semi-normalcy; I pray for that day to come quicker. The people at Roswell have been angels by my side, from the doctors to the cleaning staff. The most important angels are my family and friends, especially my beautiful wife Erin! From the brutal lowest point, to my steady climb upward, I am blessed!
