FUNDRAISING / CAMPAIGN DEVELOPMENT

Relationships.

At LLS, our development staff come from all walks of life, applying business savvy, skills in relationship building and revenue generation to advance our mission.

Whether you are just starting out in your career, or looking to identify a capstone, LLS has opportunities for mission-minded people to add more value to the word 'job'.

Team In Training

Since 1988, more than 600,000 TNT participants have helped LLS invest more than $1 billion for blood cancer research. In 1988, Bruce Cleland assembled a NYC Marathon team to raise money in honor of his daughter, a leukemia survivor. 38 runners raised $322,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) work to discover new treatments for blood cancers.

During the next 25 years, LLS's Team In Training (TNT) has become the leader in endurance sports training for charity, funding significant therapies like chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants, which have a significant impact on blood cancer patients.  TNT and LLS fundraising efforts through marathons, triathlons, cycling and hiking really are making cures happen

Light The Night

Taking Steps to End Cancer. The Light The Night Walk is a fundraising campaign benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their funding of research to find blood cancer cures.

It's about Community . Coming together for a common goal, friends, families and co-workers form fundraising walk teams. Millions of consumers also help by donating at retail outlets. Culminating in inspirational and memorable evening walks every fall, participants in nearly 200 communities across North America join together carrying illuminated lanterns to take steps to end cancer.

Student Series

Student Series is a series of service learning, character education and philanthropy programs where students gain the unique experience of helping thousands of people in their fight against blood cancers. Programs are tailored to each school level so students can grow with the Student Series and have an even greater impact on the lives of patients.

Man & Woman of the Year

Each year, in communities across the country, dedicated candidates engage in an exciting competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) "Man & Woman of the Year" titles. Raising funds for LLS blood cancer research the candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year.

Every dollar raised counts as one vote and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of 10 weeks. Top local fundraisers become eligible to win the national titles. The campaign runs between February and June.

Leukemia Cup Regatta

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Leukemia Cup Regatta is a thrilling series of sailing events that combines the joy of boating with the important task of raising money to cure cancer. Since its inception, the Leukemia Cup Regatta has raised millions of dollars for lifesaving research and patient services, bringing help and hope to patients and their families.

At events held at yacht clubs across North America, skippers register their boats and recruit friends and colleagues to help crew and to raise funds. Crew members seek donations from friends, family, co-workers and employers to sponsor their boat. National and local event sponsors also support the Leukemia Cup Regatta.
