Volunteer

I have donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) for many years. This year I wanted to do more in honor and loving memory of my dad, Frederick.

This year marks 20 years since I lost my dad to leukemia. I started the year with an online fundraiser with monthly prize drawings for anyone who donated. In May, I did a fundraiser with Five Below. In June, I did 50 miles and a fundraiser yard sale. In July, I had spirit nights at Red Robin, and then in August, I held our Little League Homerun Heroes baseball game fundraiser. In September, I completed another 50 miles and a small business carwash fundraiser. I am currently planning and will be hosting a chicken and biscuits dinner on my dad’s death anniversary at a local church. I’m hoping to help many, but even a few will make my heart happy. I want all affected by blood cancers to know they’re not alone, to overcome that traumatizing experience 20 years ago, and to honor my father. He will never be forgotten.
