Rebecca

Lymphoma Survivor

Less than one month before finishing her clinical fellowship year as a speech-language pathologist, Becca was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Her life, as well as that of her family, friends, and dog (Clifford), were turned upside down.

Rather than spending time advancing her career and enjoying life at 25 with her friends, Becca would spend the next several months enduring chemotherapy every other week. The debilitating side effects and frequent doctors’ visits put most of what her life had been previously like on hold. Overcoming these obstacles would be far too great of a hurdle for most people. However, Becca is not at all like most people. She had decided to fight back. After every chemotherapy session, while others would become progressively weak, she became even stronger. Not one did she let cancer get the upper hand. Every day she would wake up and tackle an incredibly unfortunate situation with a smile on her face.

While her friends and family tried to provide love and support to her, she was often the one making those around her even stronger with her infectious smile. She has dedicated her life to helping others through her work as a speech-language pathologist, always ready to help others. But now, she needs your help! Becca was one of the lucky ones and has won her fight, but unfortunately that is not true for everyone suffering with leukemia or lymphoma. Join us in supporting Becca-Strong and further advancements in leukemia and lymphoma research so that others might also have a happy ending!
