Brielle

acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)

Brielle, a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) on June 8, 2022, at just 22 years old. Given her age and history of ideal health, the news was more than shocking.

Things began to move quickly after the initial diagnosis. Plans were made for her to begin chemotherapy in Augusta, Georgia, which was a four-hour commute from home. Her family pulled together to provide financial and emotional support. Following a successful round of chemo, Brielle’s brother donated bone marrow for a bone marrow transplant.

On September 25, she was finally able to ring the bell after a successful bone marrow transplant following a 30-day stay in the hospital.

However, shortly before Brielle’s 23rd birthday, she learned that she was no longer in remission. She was placed back in the hospital with an infection and eventually COVID-19. Brielle lost her battle with cancer in July 2023, just over one year after her initial diagnosis.

She faced cancer with unwavering courage and determination. Despite the ultimate outcome, her journey is a testament to the human spirit’s resilience. Through her battles, she inspired her family and friends with strength and positivity. Her legacy serves as a beacon of light for those facing similar challenges, reminding us that even in the darkest of times, the human spirit can prevail.
