Two Sides of the Same Coin: Molecular Drivers and Genetic Predisposition to Blood Cancers

February 20, 2025

A free VIRTUAL educational event for: ● Patients/Survivors ● Caregivers

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Eastern
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM Pacific
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Hawaii

Program

This educational program, a collaboration between the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Team Telomere (TT), aims to bridge knowledge gaps surrounding the intersection of Telomere Biology Disorders (TBDs) and blood cancers such as Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Through expert-led discussions, the program will explore the heightened risk of leukemia in individuals with TBDs, emphasizing the role of genetic predisposition versus spontaneous occurrences of blood cancers.

By combining LLS’s expertise in hematologic malignancies and Team Telomere’s focus on rare disorders, this initiative fosters collaboration across patient advocacy, education, and research. Together, we aim to empower patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals with the knowledge to improve outcomes and advocate for innovative therapies.

Highlights:

  • Learn from leading experts in telomere biology and blood cancer research.
  • Explore the genetic underpinnings and risk factors for hematologic conditions in TBD patients.
  • Gain insights into drivers of Myeloproliferative neoplasms.
  • Understand the importance of bridging rare diseases and common malignancies to drive better care strategies.

We hope you can join us for this free virtual education event that is open to patients and families with any form of blood cancer!
