Elijah

ALL Survivor

Diagnosed with ALL in 5th grade, my hopes for a normal and healthy childhood were quickly shattered. The impact on my family began as devastation but has since metamorphosed into restoration, healing, and a closeness beyond this world (bonus, my brother and I have never fought since the day I received the news of my disease).

Caregiver

My name is Jason T. Quimby and I am the proud past caregiver of my wife and ALL survivor Susana Moro. In November 2016, my wife, was diagnosed ALL leukemia ph+ and admitted to the Miami Cancer Institute South Miami Campus to start her pediatric chemo protocol. Needless to say that for a forty-something mother of three teenage girls this was a huge personal and family challenge to overcome.

Lymphoma Survivor

My name is Bethaney Jones and I am a Hodgkin's lymphoma survivor. I was diagnosed in April 2018 after a routine check up for a cough that lasted for months.

After my diagnosis, I was unable to complete the school year with my awesome third graders. I endured six months of chemotherapy and I was able to ring the bell on October 12, one day after my 28th birthday.

Leukemia Survivor

"He was the king of positivity" is what Dr. McCarthy at Roswell Park said to me the day after my Dad passed away from complications of GVHD or graft-versus-host disease. My Dad was a leader, someone who was always willing to help others, and always had a smile on his face. Not only was I his co-caregiver throughout his cancer journey, but he was also my caregiver during mine.

Leukemia Survivor

My story with leukemia began in July 2016 when I was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). It was four months and 13 days after my wedding to my husband Eddie, and one month to the day after our vow renewal ceremony. What we didn’t realize at the time was that my body had likely been fighting for months.

Lymphoma Survivor

I am a caregiver and girlfriend to Alec Bishop. A strong and courageous man that has been fighting primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma for over a year and a half. He was diagnosed in August 2017 with a softball-sized tumor pressing on his superior Vena Cava. He went through 6 cycles of R-CHOP chemotherapy only to relapse with a new tumor a month after his last cycle of chemo.

Caregiver

My husband Patrick had a chest cold for about two months. I finally convinced him to go to the urgent care and they did an X-ray. Soon they found that he had an abnormally shaped aorta, so they sent him to our primary for testing.

Lymphoma Survivors

My first day of treatment was on July 18, 2018 at UCLA Medical. That's where I met Natasha. I was a bit nervous going in not knowing what to expect so the nurses connected both of us. That same day Natasha found out she was in remission and I couldn't be happier for her. We both were diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, going through the same treatment, and had the same doctor.

Grayton Bliss

ALL Survivor

I am Grayton Bliss and I am a survivor! I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in December 2008, at four years old. Today, I am 13 years old and I have conquered the disease and am in remission. My mother and father tell my story with a full and happy heart. We look back at photos taken just a few months prior to diagnosis and we can see the physical characteristics of the disease.

Survivor

In May of 2016 my husband Josh was experiencing abdominal pains. He was so sick with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. He went to see his doctor and was told it was probably a stomach bug but then it continued to get worse. He went back a couple of days later and they did an MRI. On June 2, 2016 we got the results from the MRI and he had a bowel blockage then there showed signs of cancer.
