Position Title: Events Manager Fundraising (Logistics Manager)
Chapter: Connecticut Westchester Hudson Valley Chapter - Stamford, CT
Position Classification: Exempt
Summary: The Chapter Logistics Manager is responsible for organizing and planning logistics for multiple Chapter Fundraising events, including venue selection, inventory control, outsourcing, outside suppliers, procurement of equipment, strategic planning and budgeting.
Reports to: Campaign Directors, Executive Director or assigned staff
Supervises: NA
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages logistics for multiple Chapter Fundraising Events for each major walk site within the Chapter, including event kick off, Walk Event, Award Ceremonies, and additional events as needed
- Research, recommends, and negotiates contracts for event venues and walk sites
- Investigates, selects, negotiates vendor contracts and permits
- Plan all logistics for events including, catering needs, event/room set-up, risk management (police, fire, EMS), a/v equipment, transportation, and hotel (if needed)
- Prepares budgets and forecasts, and compiles summaries of total event costs
- Manages event inventory, including purchasing and delivery to event site
- Responsible for event emergency plans, insurance documents, contact lists
- Provide onsite management of events to include oversight of vendors
- Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS's mission and programs to promote the Society's fundraising, research, and patient initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
- 4 years fundraising, communications, sales, marketing, event planning
Position Requirements:
- Proven budget management skills with ability to create and review budgets in detail and for accuracy
- Excellent contract negotiation skills
- Excellent word processing and database management skills.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Professional maturity and judgment.
hysical Demands & Work Environment:
- Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
- Work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
- May be required to move Campaign materials weighing up to 15 pounds for various events.
- May be required to travel within the Chapter's designated area.
- May be required to work evenings or weekends.
Organizational Priorities:
- Prioritize Research Programs: Pro-actively direct Grant and TAP programs to address specific research gaps and medical needs.
- Drive Advocacy & Policy Agenda: Develop a coordinated advocacy network and a robust internal policy capability that, together, can influence and educate key policy decision makers on priority access issues to break down barriers.
- Maximize Patient Impact: Reach more patients and have greater impact through improved efficiency, urgency and effectiveness of support, education, and information delivery.
- Increase Awareness: Raise LLS brand awareness and engagement to drive revenue & establish LLS as the leading cancer organization driving cures & access.
- Improve Net Profitability: Maximize net income from existing channels through prioritization, organizational alignment and optimization of resources.
- Diversify Revenue: Identify and develop high-growth, high-margin revenue opportunities focusing on volunteer initiatives, eRevenue, donor development and new partner development.
- Enhance Organizational Performance: Assess resources, improve productivity and optimize organizational capacity.
