Director, Team In Training Flex

Position Title:  Campaign Director, Revenue Development 
Position Classification: Exempt

Basic Function:  Responsible for managing and the strategic planning of the TNT Flex program.  Duties include managing multiple teams, seasons and events in Team In Training Flex for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society including planning, budgeting and implementation.  Manages the financial resources and relationships necessary to support and sustain current revenue goals.  Responsible for the planning, modeling and testing required to ensure the rapid continued growth of the Flex program in alignment with National TNT product development. 

Work Direction: Works under the supervision and direction of the National Director, Team In Training Partnership and Campaign Operations

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops a comprehensive seasonal plan for each assigned team and event, which includes a specific budget, timeline, logistics, volunteer development plan, communications plan and recruitment and marketing plan for each event.  
  • Minimum expectation is the ability to oversee a geographically dispersed staff of 5 individuals managing 23 events annually in overlapping seasons with a total Flex revenue goal of $4.5 million for FY15. 
  • Minimum participant support and retention expectation is 68% retention with a minimum of 20% of each team exceeding their individual fundraising commitment. 
  • Responsible for identifying, recruiting, training and developing volunteer support staff in the delivery of Team In Training Flex. 
  • Manages and assures the development of all materials required for the successful implementation of assigned Team In Training events:
    •    -Recruitment and promotional materials
    •    -Support materials and calls for chapters
    •    -Participant welcome and support materials
    •    -Conference calls
    •    -Webinars
    •    -Donation submission and matching gift instructions
    •    -Goal planning worksheets
    •    -Fundraising planners
    •    -Honored teammate bios, mission moments and other motivational mission support materials
    •    -Coaching contracts
    •    -Mentor and captain agreements
    •    -Other team support materials as requested or needed to support revenue goals
  • Identifies target audiences and builds appropriate marketing and monitoring strategies to successfully recruit, acknowledge, and retain event donors/participants. 
  • Develops and coordinates promotional activities to ensure the success of events and to enhance public awareness of the LLS and its mission.
  • Tracks income and expenses associated with assigned events and facilitates comprehensive campaign records, evaluations and reports.
  • Works with LLS regions and chapters as both collaborator and advisor in developing greater Team In Training Flex participation within the local, regional and national models.
  • As new opportunities for participation and revenue growth present themselves, models, tests and assesses viability and success of new participation models built on the Flex platform.
  • Works closely with Corporate Team Development to provide a participant focused, high level of support for multi-chapter National Corporate Teams.
  • As a member of the national Team In Training staff, assists, as assigned, in the development and implementation of other Team In Training projects, programs and goals.  
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the LLS mission and its programs to address them.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum two years Team In Training experience in a Senior Manager, Director or Senior Director role or equivalent experience in another organization.
  • Minimum two years experience managing teams to achieve and exceed specific revenue goals.
  • Demonstrated staff management and volunteer development capabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of social media.
  • Confidence in public speaking and the ability to present effectively on conference calls and webinars.
  • Capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to excellence.
  • Capable of working well with a variety of personalities and leadership styles.
  • Highly organized and professional demeanor.
  • Resourcefulness, promotions savvy and problem solving acumen.
  • Good computer skills (word processing and database programs).
  • Minimum preferred education - Bachelor`s degree.
  • 4-6 or more years fund raising and communications, sales, or marketing experience.
