Caregiver
My husband Patrick had a chest cold for about two months. I finally convinced him to go to the urgent care and they did an X-ray. Soon they found that he had an abnormally shaped aorta, so they sent him to our primary for testing.
They tested him and on July 5, 2017 and found that he had a mass in his chest that had caused his heart to move. It turns out the mass was Hodgkin lymphoma.
He has been through five different kinds of chemo, a dose of radiation and a year and a half of treatment, but it’s still not gone. We are currently trying to get him to the CAR-T clinical trial, but he won’t be able to do it until May.
We are fighting as hard as we can to keep him stable until we can get there. His refractory Hodgkin lymphoma has been extremely difficult to treat, but we are taking it day by day.
I’m happy to still have the love of my life with me, but it is difficult to know how much he is suffering, and that I can’t fix it.
