Clinical Trials: The Past, The Present & You

September 18, 2024

A free virtual educational program for patients, survivors, caregivers and family members.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Participation in clinical trials for new blood cancer treatments should reflect the patient population who will use the treatment. Yet Black Americans continue to be underrepresented across most clinical trials – even for diseases like multiple myeloma, the most common blood cancer diagnosed in the Black community.

Please join us to learn more about the need for diversity in clinical trial participation and what changes are necessary to make these trials more accessible to all patients. Dr. Eric Cooks will lead a conversation on:

  • Changing the negative perception of clinical trials due to the history of mistreatment of Black Americans in medical research
  • Barriers to participating in a clinical trial
  • How underrepresentation of Black Americans could negatively impact reactions to cancer treatment

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is dedicated to addressing health disparities in multiple myeloma – and all types of blood cancer.

FREE VIRTUAL PROGRAM. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
LOGIN INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED TO ALL REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS.
